Chris Yeats – Managing Director
Chris Yeats was born and raised in Gore, before leaving to attend the University of Otago.
After two years studying towards a Bachelor of Arts, Chris then worked as a musician in Dunedin and then Wellington before ending up on the West Coast in 1980, where he met his partner Karen and started a family. Chris and Karen have three grown up children: Rosanna, James and Hannah. Chris is qualified to Advanced Trade certificate level in Carpentry, has completed 70% of a NZCD (Architecture) and is a Site 2 and Carpentry Licenced Building Practitioner. He also has completed over 50% of a BA. Right from the beginning, Chris’ personal interest has been in constructing interesting, challenging and one-off buildings, as it satisfies his interest in good design and architecture and the contribution they make to our lives. Outside of work, Chris is a keen cyclist and occasional runner, having competed in numerous competitive events, cycled the length of New Zealand and enjoyed several European cycling expeditions.
Denise McPaike – Director, Accounts and Contracts Manager
Denise McPaike is a born and bred Coaster and apart from a few years in the North Island and overseas, she has lived and worked on the Coast all her life. Outside of work Denise and her husband Danny have four children that keep them busy. Denise has worked for CYB Construction Ltd for over ten years, beginning as a part-time Administrator. Her current role within the company is Contracts and Accounts Manager which involves dealing with sub contractors throughout all projects, ensuring they receive relevant information from the architect, following up on costs of variations, and processing both sub contractors’ payment claims and submitting CYB’s head contract payment claims to the client. Denise is also involved with the tender process on projects which involve sub contractors and administration right through to obtaining the Code Compliance Certificate from the council. Denise enjoys being able to see a project from the blueprint to the completed building. In her spare time,Denise is involved in West Coast rugby League and in summer she enjoys a bit of time in the garden, weather permitting.
